Rate Rise

We’ve been talking with our community about Council’s financial position and ways we can balance our budget since July 2022.

Council met on 8 November 2022, and after carefully considering the community feedback received, unanimously agreed to submit an application to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) for a Special Rate Variation (SRV) of 9.5% each year for three years.

Council submitted its extensive application in January 2023 after which IPART called for submissions over a three-week period and assessed the application based on its set criteria.

On the 15 June 2023, IPART announced Council was successful in its application for a SRV.
