Foreshore Plan Management
The Port Stephens Foreshore Management Plan guides the sustainable use of the foreshore for commercial and recreational activities.
The plan provides a coordinated approach for more than 250km of foreshore which is located across two Council areas. With increasing pressure on the foreshore through population growth and an expanding tourism industry, the plan identifies and assesses potential threats to the foreshore and suggests management actions.
Purpose
The Port Stephens Foreshore Management Plan aims to preserve the foreshore while improving:
- foreshore access and safety
- visually
- recreational facilities
- ecological integrity
- waterway health
