Port’s pools safest in the state, again!
Lakeside Leisure Centre has been rated Belgravia Leisure’s highest performing aquatic facility in NSW in the 2017-2018 Royal Life Safety Assessment Audit for the second consecutive year.
Lakeside Leisure Centre scored an outstanding 97.7% and came first out of 178 facilities, while Tomaree Aquatic Centre came equal fourth at 94.8%. Tilligerry Aquatic Centre was close behind on 89.7% - well above the NSW three year average of 84.5%.
Port Stephens Mayor Ryan Palmer says the results are an endorsement Port Stephens' quality aquatic facilities.
“We are incredibly proud that Belgravia has rated Lakeside Leisure Centre its safest pool in the state for the second consecutive year, and for all of our pools to have achieved such great safety results.
“It’s a wonderful reward for the dedicated Belgravia Leisure staff who work hard to ensure our community has access to quality pool facilities they can enjoy year-round,” he said.
Nicole Dunn, Northern NSW Area Manager says she is extremely proud of the continued performance and achievement in all areas of aquatic safety.
“The fact we have managed to have all three Port Stephens aquatic facilities achieve safety ratings well above the NSW three year average demonstrates the strength of the partnership with Port Stephens Council, who proactively work with us every day to ensure the highest level of safety provision across all sites,” she said.
Matt Griffiths, General Manager of Royal Life Saving NSW says the outstanding results can be attributed to the strong partnership between Council and Belgravia.
“The commitment of Belgravia Leisure and Port Stephens Councils partnership has been the driving force to the high standards that have demonstrated in the most recent assessment,” he said.
