New map to support the community to reuse, recycle and reduce waste

The ReUse Hunter Community Map aims to connect the community with circular businesses who provide a service to repair, hire, donate, refurbish, or buy second hand within their own council area.

Designed by the Hunter Joint Organisation and funded by the NSW Environment Protection Authority, ReUse Hunter empowers the  community to play their part in reducing landfill by  re-using or repairing products, keeping valuable products in circulation.
Councils are facing a growing challenge – how to manage increasing  waste volumes while meeting ambitious  reduction targets and evolving community expectations.

While previous campaigns have raised awareness about the link between consumption and waste, they haven’t provided practical tools or solutions for residents to actively reduce their waste generation.

ReUse Hunter has been developed to move beyond awareness campaigns and empower residents with the tools and resources they need to make a real difference in waste reduction. It fosters a circular economy across the entire region by connecting community members with local businesses committed to sustainability. and grow their businesses. From bike repairs and furniture donations to pre-loved fashion, ReUse Hunter helps you find circular businesses in your local area. Discover businesses across the

Hunter region offering services that contribute to a sustainable economy – and save you money! If you own a circular business (repair, refurbishment, rental, etc.), add it to the map and connect with eco-conscious customers. You can also add your favourite circular businesses to help others discover them.
